He purchased the homestead, which he farmed until his death, April 19, 1833. He was married to Maria Elizabeth, a daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Danner, and they had twelve children: a son Benjamin and four daughters, who were respectively married to Andrew Knerr, Jacob Holben, Christian Kramlich and Andrew Hartman; and seven others who died young. They were members of the Reformed Congregation of the Lowhill Church, and were buried in the cemetery there. Simon married Maria Elisabetha Danner, daughter of Jacob Danner and Elisabetha. (Maria Elisabetha Danner was born on 1 Feb 1771,5 died on 17 Nov 1853 and was buried in Lowhill Township: Lowhill Cemetery, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, USA 1.) |
