• Obituary: Tribune, 4 Apr 1987, Greeley, Weld County, Colorado, USA. James W. Keasling, 71, Greeley died Friday, April 3, at North Colorado Medical Center. He was born Nov 15, 1915 to James and Zoe Etta (Bucher) Keasling in Keota. On April 17, 1938, he married Ruth F. Craig in her parents home in Keota, which is the only home still being lived in in Keota. Ms. Keasling grew up on the family homestead near Keota. He worked for farmers and ranchers until going to work for the County Highway Department, while living in Grover, from 1948 until 1953. The couple moved to Wheaatland, Wyo., where they worked on and managed a ranch until 1959. They then moved to Greeley and he worked for the Colorado Highway Department until his retirement in 1977. He was a member of the Christ Christian church. Survivors are his wife, Ruth of Greeley, a daughter, Mrs. andrew (Zola) Gudahl of Wheatland, a son, Russell of Bartlesville, Okla., four grandchildren, Debra Keasling and Scott Keasling, both of Bartlesville, Wesley Gudaho and Vicki Gudahl, both of Scottsbluff, Neb; and a great granddaugher. Services will be at 3 pm Monday at Adamson Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
