8. Obituary: in Jan 1914. Thomas W. Bucher was born April 29th, 1840, in Homes Co., OH. (T.W. Bucher was actually born in Deersville, Harrison Co., Ohio) He died January 21, 1914 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Anne Morrison, in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, his age being 73 years, 8 months, and 21 days. In 1864, in Molmesville (should be Holmesville), Ohio, Mr. Bucher was united in marriage with Miss Lucinda Beall. To this union were born eleven children, ten of whom are still living. One son and the faithful mother, wife and helpmate have gone on before.
Funeral services were conducted to the Christian Church of Gravity, January 24th by the pastor, assisted by brother W. L. Dunlavy. Tho' it is hard to bid the loved ones farewell, even for the short time that must intervene before our own summons shall come, still there is something very fitting in the fact that these two who had for so many years lived together, should be so nearly together in death. The friends will remember that it was on November 11, last that we attended the funeral service for Mrs. Bucher.
Mr. Bucher served his country as soldier in the sixties but suffering an attack of typhoid fever which left his heart in a weakened condition, he was discharged before the close of the war. He has been a suffer from heart trouble all the years since. He was one of the pioneer settlers of Gravity, and tho' he has journeyed about considerable in search of health, Gravity has been more than any other place his home.
In eartly manhood Mr. Bucher united with the Christian church and has ever since in so far as his health would permit, been interested and active in the work of his Master. He was ready to live; therefore he was ready to die when the call came. And so quiet and peaceful was his passing that those who were watching at his side did not even hear the rustle of the sable messenger wings. And we are remined of the words of Him, who said, "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am, there ye may be also." Irving E.Wade.

Thomas married Lucinda K. Bell on 14 Apr 1864 in Gravity, Taylor, IA. (Lucinda K. Bell was born on 12 Jul 1842 in Holmesville, Holmes, OH,2 3 died on 7 Nov 1913 in Webb City, Jasper, MO and was buried on 10 Nov 1913 in Gravity: Washington Cemetery, Taylor, IA.)
