6. Obituary: Morning Call: obituary of Amanda Shoemaker Diehl on 20 Sep 1937 in Allentown, Lehigh, PA. 9 Mrs. Amanda Diehl. widow of Milton J. Diehl who for many years prior to his retirement was the proprietor of the Keystone hotel in Alburtis, died yesterday morning at the home of George A. Wehr at Slegersville of ills incident to her advanced years. She was aged 86 years, 3 months and 4 days. She was born in Lowhill township, a daughter of the late Peter and Josephine, nee Quier, Shoemaker. Her husband preceded her in death in February, 1933. The only survivors are a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 1:30 o'clock Thursday at the home of Mr. Wehr. where she had resided for the past eight years. Continued services will be conducted in Lehigh church, with interment in the adjoining cemetery. The Revs. William O. Wolfort of Folgelsville and T. H. Bachman of Slatington will officiate.
