6. Obituary: Philadelphia Inquirer: obituary of Beatrice Beecher on 16 Jul 1989 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA. 5 Beatrice Beecher, 93, of Coatesville Beatrice May Beecher, 93, a longtime resident of the Coatesville area, died July 7 at her daughter's home in Coatesville.
Mrs. Beecher, born in Nantmeal Township, was a resident of Coatesville and had lived in the area her entire life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Olivet United Methodist Church in Coatesville for more than 50 years. She was active for many years with the West End Fire Company Auxiliary, Coatesville, and in the past served as treasurer for more than 25 years. She also was a longtime member of the VFW Sahler Sedan Post 287 Auxiliary in Coatesville and served as treasurer for many years.
Mrs. Beecher was the wife of the late James Beecher, who died in 1972. She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy May Shannon, with whom she lived. In addition, she is survived by a son, Earl J. Beecher; two sisters, four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and four great-great-granchildren.
A funeral service was held Tuesday in the Wentz Funeral Home, Coatesville. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.


Beatrice married James Parris Beecher, son of Parris Epler Beecher and Catherine Ryan. (James Parris Beecher was born on 28 Apr 1896 in Coatesville, Chester, PA,1 13 14 15 died on 5 Jul 1972 in Coatesville: Coatesville Hospital, Chester, PA 1 2 15 and was buried in Coatesville: Fairview Cemetery, Chester, PA 15.)
