bullet  Noted events in his life were:

• Census, 1850, Lebanon, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, USA. 4 The 1850 Census lists in Lebanon:
William Bicher, age 39, tinner, is living with Susanna, 38; John, 19, shoemaker; William, 17, tinner; Elizabeth, 10; Emelia, 7; Sarah, 5; Emanuel, 2; and Mary Bicher, 70, who we presume is William's mother, nee Michal. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. Their neighbors are Felix Good, 70, and David Carmany, 56.
[Note: Most census indexes list him as Bicker, not Bicher; the census taker's handwriting can easily be mistaken.]

• Census, 1860, Lebanon, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, USA. 5 William Biecher, age 50, appears in the 1860 Census in Lebanon living with his wife, Susan, age 48; Amelia, 17; Sarah, 14; Emanuel, 12; George, 4; and Mary, 79. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. William is employed as a tinsmith.

• Military Service: during the Civil War, 17 Sep 1862, Hummelstown, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, USA. 7 His record on file shows the following:
Beicher, Emanuel Graeff
Ind Co I Mil 62
5-1214
Enrolled: 9-17-62 at Hummelstown, Pa.
M.I. as Pvt. at
Discharged 9-23-62
Age at enrollment 18

• Census, 1870, Lebanon, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, USA. 3 8 The 1870 Census has the household of Emanuel Beicher, 22, plasterer, listed next to his father's household, William Biecher. Living with him is his wife, Margaret, age 21, and Kate, 2. All were born in Pennsylvania. He had no real estate of value and his possessions were worth $100. The previous census listing is for George Meily, 71, watchmaker, significant in that Emanuel's mother's maiden name was Meily.

• Census, 1900, Marion, Marion County, Ohio, USA. 1 Renting the home at 210 Silver Street in Marion, Ohio, in 1900 was Emanuel Beicher, 53, born Mar 1847, married 36 years to wife Margaret, 52, born Mar 1848. She had birthed 5 children by 1900, 3 were still living, and one living with them: Howard E., 15, born Jul 1884, single. Emanuel and Margaret and their parents were born in Pennsylvania; Howard in Ohio. Emanuel's occupation is plasterer. The preceding neighbor in the Census is William M. Meiley, 37, born Aug 1862, who was born in Ohio but whose father was born in Pennsylvania, significant because Meily was the maiden name of Emanuel's mother. We suspect Emanuel came to Marion to link up with the Meileys.

• Census, 1910, Marion, Marion County, Ohio, USA. 9 Manuel Beicher, laborer, 64, was married to Margret A., 63, who had given birth to three children, all still alive in 1910. With them is one child: son Howard, office clerk in railroad, 24. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania, except Howard was born in Ohio of Pennsylvanian parents.
