RALEIGH (AP) - A New Hanover County man is asking for a total of $27 million in damages from a doctor and the E. I. Dupont de Nemours & Co. Attorneys for Henry Earl Beeker filed the suit in U.S. Eastern District Court Friday. Beeker contends he was injured on three occasions while employed with the company in Wilmington and that he failed to receive proper medical treatment. Raleigh attorney Sheldon L Fogel said Beeker is permanently disabled and alleged that "the company conspired with the doctor to hide the Injuries." Beeker is seeking $1 million In punitive damages from Dupont and $500,000 from Dr. J.C. Paul. He is also asking for actual damages of $200,000 from the doctor and $1 million jointly from the doctor and the company. The suit will be tried in Wilmington.
