Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania except Grace's mother in Michigan.

Census in 1940 in Girardville, Schuylkill, PA. 13 The 1940 census recorded owning a $2500 home at at 305 A Street: Thomas Heywood, mining engineer in coal mines, 40, living with wife grace, 37; Arlene, 16; Glenn, 13; Joan, 7; and Thomas, 2. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. They lived in the same house in 1935. Thomas' income was $2400 a month.

Mrs. Thomas Heywood of Girardville was guest of honor at a surprise 70th birthday party held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arlene Myers, Newton, N.J. A centerpiece of carnations and mums adorned the center table, among the flowers were monetary gifts signifying the age of the celebrant. The recreation room was decorated with streamers in the fall colors, and a huge basket decorated similarly in front of fireplace, filled with gilts from her 17 grandchildren. Luncheon was served to Mrs. Arlene Myers and sons Bruce, Brian and Barry, of Newton, N.J. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Heywood and sons Brent, Keith and Blake of Allentown, Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Schneff and son David and daughter Donna of Philadelphia, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas R. Heywood and sons Tommy, Steve and Mark and daughters Carol, Becky and Kristan of Easton, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Davies of Berwick, and Mr. and Mrs. James Bradbury of Shenandoah and the guest of honor Mrs. Thomas Heywood.

5. Obituary: Republican-Herald: obituary of Mrs. Grace Heywood on 1 Jun 1980 in Pottsville, Schuylkill, PA. 10 Mrs. Grace Heywood died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arlene Myers, in Newton, N.J., where she had been residing.
Mrs. Heywood lived most of her life in Girardville, and was a daughter of William and Della Botut Davis.
She was a member of Zion's Baptist Church, Girardville, and the Girardville Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Heywood was preceeded in death by her husband, thomas, in 1962.
Surviving are two sons, Glenn, of Allentown, and Thomas, of Easton; two daughters, Mrs. Myers, and Mrs. Joan Schneff, of Philadelphia; one brother, Walter Davis, Berwick; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandhchildren.
Services will be held Monday from the John M. Cooke Funeral Home, Girardville, with the Rev. John Reese officiating. Interment will be in the United Protestant Cemetery, Girardville.
