9. Obituary: Muncie Evening Press: Death of William Beecher on 1 Jan 1940 in Muncie, Delaware, IN. 11 HARTFORD, Jan. 1. Word was received here today of the death at Gladwyne, Pa., of William Beecher, a former widely known resident of this city. His death occurred Thursday evening at a Gladwyne hospital following a hernia operation. For many years, he was employed here as millright at the Hartford City Paper Company. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Alta Vance, William and Watson Beecher and Mrs. Opal Fernside of Conshohocken, Pa., and Mrs. Walter Jones, of Norristown, Pa. Two sisters also survive, including Mrs. Josephine Townsend, of Muncie, and Mrs. Josie Rabbins of Mill-grove. Funeral services and burial will take place at Gladwyne.
