(Wolf) Beecher, age 89, died late Friday night, September 10, 2004, at the Prescott Samaritan Village in Arizona where she had been living for the past seven years. Previously she was a resident of the Barnett Building in Albion, Pa., formerly from East Springfield. She was born in Ripley, N.Y., on May 24, 1915, the daughter of the late Elmer T. and Irene (Daniels) Wolf. Mary graduated from the Erie Academy High School and was an active member of the Federated Church in East Springfield. People who knew Mary knew that she had been handicapped her entire life and was totally devoted to spending time at the church where she loved to work with the kids. Even though she had a hard time writing, she enjoyed writing letters all the time as one of her biggest joys and hobbies. Mary was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Wolf; and a sister, Martha Wolf Wilkins. She is survived by a daughter, Sondra Duncan and her husband, James, of Humboldt, Ariz.; and two sons, Roderick Beecher and his wife, Margaret, of Gulf Port, Miss., and Robert Beecher and his wife, Rosemary, of Nelsonville, Ohio. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to attend Life Celebration Memorial Services on Saturday, October 23, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, 11883 Main Street, East Springfield, Pa. with Pastor Ed Huntley officiating. Burial will follow at the Girard Cemetery.
