Born in Vogansville, Lancaster County, a son of John M. and Eliza M. (Bitzer) Bicher, he was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mohnton. Prior to his retirement, Bicher had been employed as an ornamental iron worker. He was a charter member of Maine Chapter No 46, Knights of Friendship, Mohnton, and a member of the Shillington unit, Knights of Malta. Bicher his survived by his widow, Minnie B. (Schmid) Bicher, and six daughters: Helen, widow of Walter Weider, Shillington; Elsie, widow of Henry R. Miller, and Dora, wife of John Schnura, both of Reading; Stella, wife of Harry G. Good, Reading R.D. 1; Rachel, wife of Frank R. Klopp, Montrose Manor, and Mary, wife of Stanley Weider, Elizabeth, N.J. Also, 12 grandchildren; a brother, John Shillington, and three sisters; Mary, wife of Barton Bitzer, Reading; Carrie, wife of Warren Kegerise, Wyomissing, and Minnie, wife of Elmer Bender, Mohnton. Services will be held Friday at 2 PM in the Gosnell Funeral Home, Shillington, the Rev. Julius Sathmary officiating. Burial will be in Aulenbach's cemetery.
