  Noted events in his life were:

1. He has conflicting birth information. His tombstone reads 1862 but researcher Mary Bougher Hutton points out why 22 Jun 1852 is correct:
1) In 1860 he was age 8 on the census.
2) In 1910 he was 57 on the census.
3) On his death certificate, it says 1842, but gives his age at death as 60 years, 11 months, 16 days. Subtracted from the death date of June 8, 1913, that calculates 23 Jun 1852, a day off.

2. Census in 1860 in West Deer Twp., Allegheny, PA. ³ James Bougher, boiler maker, 51, was living with wife Catharine, 49; James, boiler maker, 24; David Michael, farm laborer, 18; Mary Agnes, domestic, 15; Clement Ellucius, 8. Also in the home: John Doyle Bucher, [10 or 20 or 70? handwriting strange], farm laborer; and Ruth O'Kane, 30, domestic. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania, except Catharine in New York. James had no real estate of value, and his personal estate was worth $325. The post office was Dorseyville.

3. He has conflicting birth information of 1862 and West Deer Twp., Allegheny, PA. ¹ The cemetery listing is obviously in error since Clement is in the 1860 census as age 8.

4. Census in 1870 in West Deer Twp., Allegheny, PA. James Bougher, boiler maker, 50, was living with Catherine, 56; Anastasia, 37; Mary A., 23; Clement, 18; and Stella, 10. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. His real estate with valued at $1800 and personal estate $900. The post office is Rural Ridge.

5. Census in 1910 in Derry Twp., Westmoreland, PA. ⁵ Clement Bougher, foreman coal min, 57, was married for 20 years to wife Matilda, 47. She had birthed 3 children by 1910, and all were alive that year. With them: James, 18; and Marie, 14. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

Clement married Annie Matilda Short, daughter of Peter Short and Barbara Ann Bridge. (Annie Matilda Short was born on 5 Jul 1862 in Derry Twp., Westmoreland, PA,¹ died in 1953 in , Westmoreland Co. PA ¹ and was buried in New Derry: St. Martin's Cemetery, Westmoreland, PA ¹.)
