Event Description: The History of St. John's records George Beecher died 13 Mar 1842 age 50 4 2. Son William Beecher, administrator of George's estate, in his court filing wrote George died in 1841. Calculating 50 years 4 months 2 days from his birth is 11 Mar 1841.

Fact: Y-DNA tests in 2014 prove George Beecher (1790-1841) is related to John Beecher (1760-1819) of Berks County and his DNA doesn't match the CT Beechers, as claimed in son William's bio in Historical and Biographical Annals of Berks County., 1790, , Lancaster, PA. Account

On 24 Mar 1842 an administrative bond was issued binding the Administrator, George's son William Beecher, and relatives George Reifschneider and Adam Spengler, to produce within 30 days an inventory of George's personal property, and within a year an account of his credits and debts. On 1 Apr 1842 the inventory was filed.

On 10 Nov 1842 the orphan's court granted an order for a public sale of the real estate of George Beecher on 10 Dec 1842 at the Rader Inn in Heidelberg Township, in response to the following petition filed by William Beecher:

"To the Honorable the Judges of the Orphan's Court of Berks County
The petition of William Beecher Administrator of all and singular the goods & chattles rights and credits where were of George Beecher late of Heidelberg Township Berks County deceased
Respectfully represents that the said George Beecher died intestate in the year one thousand eight hundred forty one leaving a widow to wit Barbara and issue four children, William, Harrison, Mary & Catharine Beecher and seized of the following Real Estate situate in the Township of Heidelberg Berks County to wit a certain messauge tenement & tract of land containing twelve acres more or less adjoining lands of John M. Heck, John Rader, Benjamin Waldman & George Lash on which are erected a Log House & Stable, one acre being Woodland, one acre meadow, a thriving young apple orchard and two springs on the premises, the above described is all the real Estate of Said decedent which has come to your petitioner's knowledge, that the personal estate of Said decendent is insufficient for payment of his debts as appears by the Schedule, Statem. & Inventory hereto annexed. --
Your petitioiner therefore prays your honors to grant him an order of Sale of Said Real Estate for the purpose of paying the debts of said decedent.

On 10 Nov 1843 the court documents state that William Beecher "did report that in pursuance of said order of Court, he did at the time and place therein mentioned expose the premises therein described to Sale by Public outcry & that for what of sufficient bidders did not sell the same." The court granted an alias order of sale for the property to be sold on 9 Dec 1843 at the house of George Rader Innkeeper in Heidelberg Township.

On 19 Dec 1843 William reported to the court the land was sold to the highest bidder, John Bohn, for $425.10.
