A pretty wedding took place at noon yesterday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Jones, Shenandoah Heights, when their daughter, Miss Dorothy, was united in marriage to Arthur Beacher, also of the Heights. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. David J. Jones, pastor of Calvary Baptist church, in the presence of members of the immealate families. William Brown and Miss Margaret Major, of Tamaqua, were the attendants. The couple received many handsome and useful gifts. The bride is employed as an operator tor the Bell Telephone Company, and is well known and popular. Mr. Beacher is also well known and enjoys a large circle of friends. Following the ceremony a Thanksgiving dinner was served. The couple has the best wishes of many friends for a happy voyage o'er the sea of matrimony.

Mr. Beacher was born and raised in Shenandoah and lived in Frackville since 1942. He was a son of the late Arthur G. and Lottie Wagner Beacher.
Mr. Beacher was employed at Corriele Construction Co., Hazleton, for 25 years. He was last employed as a state mining engineer, retiring in 1978.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Frackville, and Frackville Free and Accepted order of Masons Lodge 737.
Surviving are his widow, the former Dorothy Jones; one daughter, Joan, wife of Emil Micun, Philadelphia; two sisters, Evelyn, wife of John Balliett and Jean, wife of Fred Gibbons, Shenandoah; a brother Paul Beacher, Danville; a grandson David and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday morning from Nice Funeral Home, Frackville. The Rev. Dale Lewis Miller, First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shenandoah.
