Beeker, farm laborer, 38, born Aug 1861, with his wife Ada F., farmer, 31, Nov 1868; Ruby M., Sep 1890; and son Thornton, 4, Jun 1895. Everyone and their parents were born in Indiana except Ada's mother in Sweden. John and Ada were married for 12 years and she had birthed 2 children all alive in 1900.

Mr. Parks is a graduate of Purdue with the class of 1907, and a graduate of Indiana Law school with the class of 1909. He has been in partnership with his father, George D. Parks, the last six years. He has served the last two years as United States commissioner here.

John M. Parks, of West Lafayette, was awarded the degree of doctor of philosophy at the 118th graduation exercises Wednesday, Dec. 23. at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N. Y. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris R. Parks, 491 Maple street, West Lafayette, and was graduated at RPI in 1941 with the degree of master of metallurgical engineering. He is a member of Sigma Xi. Young Parks was expected home Thursday night.
Cadet Robert W. Parks of U. S. military academy at West Point has arrived to spend a Christmas furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Parks. S. T. Beeker, brother of Mrs. Parks, was also to come Thursday from Alexandria, Va, to spend Christmas at the Parks home.

Mrs. Ruby Parks, 84, who for 14 years was vice chairman of the Republican Party in Tippecanoe County, died Monday evening at Americana Nursing Center, where she had been a resident since May.
Mrs. Parks, who lived most of her life in West Lafayette, came from a political family and, in 1952, she headed the Republican campaign in this County. During the campaign she rode an election train from Lafayette to Logansport with the GOP vice presidential candidate, Richard Nixon, and Mrs. Nixon.
Following the election of Dwight Eisenhower as President that year, Mrs. Parks resigned from active politics. Her husband, Morris Parks, a former West Lafayette city judge, died in 1962.
Mrs. Parks was born on a farm near Ash Grove. She attended school in West Lafayette and, in 1910 graduated from Indiana University with a degree in mathematics: She taught school for several years before marrying Morris Parks, a local attorney.
During her tenure as GOP vice chairman, Mrs. Parks managed the old motor vehicle license branch at Sixth and Columbia Streets from 1945 to 1949. In 1953 she was one of the founding members of the Tippecanoe County Republican Women's Club.
She also was active in the Tourist Club.
Mrs. Parks designed her home at 491 Maple St.. WL, where she lived until entering the nursing home.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. John M. Parks of Cleveland, O., and Col. Robert Parks of Carlsbad, N.M.


Ruby married Morris Randlett Parks, son of George Daniel Parks and Anna Statira White, on 19 Oct 1915 in Battle Ground, Tippecanoe, IN.1 2 (Morris Randlett Parks was born on 20 Dec 1885 in Brunswick, Cumberland, ME, USA,13 14 died on 8 Jul 1962 in Lafayette, Tippecanoe, IN, USA 7 15 and was buried in West Lafayette: Grand View Cemetery, Tippecanoe, IN, USA 15.)
