FLORA - Howard Monroe Johnson, 73, Bringhurst R. R. 1, died at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Kokomo where he had been a patient for approvimately one hour. He had been ill for three and a half years.
Born near Flora, Sept. 11, 1890, he was the son of Benjamin and Hettie (Cripe) Johnson, and on Nov. 18, 1913, he was married to Alice Moss, who survives.
A retired farmer, he was a member of the Bachelor Run Church of the Brethren.
Surviving with the widow are one son, Kenneth Johnson, Logansport; two daughters, Mrs. Dora Heimburger, Florida, and Mrs. Virginia Ingold, Nigeria, Africa, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Carter Funeral Home in Flora with the Rev. Lowell Ritchie officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Thursday.
