1. Census in 1920 in Hellam Twp., York, PA. 4 Bela L. Bucher, farmer, 25, was living with wife Anna M., 29; and Samuel, 10 months. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

2. Obituary: The Gospel Herald on 24 May 1988. 2 Bucher.- Bela L., son of Jacob and Fannie (Musselman) Bucher, was born at Mummasburg, Pa., Oct. 7, 1894; died at Landis Homes, Lititz, Pa., May 4, 1988; aged 93 y. In January 1914, he was married to Mabel Musselman who died in August 1966. In June 1968, he was married to Alma Groff Rudy, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter (Anna Lois Charles), 3 sons (Samuel, Harold, and John Bucher), 3 stepdaughters (Mary Jane Detweiler, Sara Hess Sauder, and Nancy Martin) 3 stepsons (John, Clarence, and Paul Rudy) 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, 22 step-grandchildren, 21 step-great-grandchildren, and one sister (Mary Shue). In February 1944 he was ordained to the ministry and served the Stony Brook Church in York County. He was a member of Stony Brook Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on May 7, in charge of Willard Delp, Lloyd Hollinger, and Richard Detweiler; interment in Old Stony Brook Mennonite Cemetery.


Bela married Anna Mabel Musselman, daughter of Samuel High Musselman and Anna Zimmerman, on 30 Jan 1914.1 (Anna Mabel Musselman was born on 30 Jan 1891 in , , Pennsylvania, USA,1 4 died on 17 Aug 1966 in Lititz, Lancaster, PA 1 2 and was buried in York: Stony Brook Mennonite Church, York, PA.)


Bela next married Alma M. Groff, daughter of Aaron L. Groff and Lizzie, on 16 Jun 1968.2 (Alma M. Groff was born on 30 Apr 1904 in Bareville, Lancaster, PA,3 died on 6 Nov 1991 in Lititz, Lancaster, PA 3 6 and was buried in York: Stony Brook Mennonite Church, York, PA.)
