Drey Jr., 76, of Kutztown R.D. 4, was dead on arrival Wednesday at 5:11 a.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of Jane M. (Shalters) Drey. His first wife, Anna M. (Griesemer) Drey, died Aug. 17, 1966. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Claude A. Drey Sr. and Alice (Neider) Drey. Drey was employed for 43 years as a machine operator by the former Kawecki-Berylco Industries Inc., now NGK Metals Inc., Muhlenberg Township, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Kutztown. Drey is also survived by two sons, John S., Baltimore, and Richard C., Bethlehem; a daughter, Susan J., wife of Philip Grillo, Douglassville; and a stepdaughter, Patricia A., wife of Marvin Rissmiller, Muhlenberg Park. Other survivors include two sisters, Shirley, widow of Jack Spencer, Muhlenberg Park, and Virginia, widow of James Brophy. Wyomissing Hills; and three brothers: Jack, Reading: Ronald, Lancaster; and Kenneth, Muhlenberg Park. There are also six grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren. Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Auman Funeral Home, Reading. Burial will be in Oley Cemetery, Spangsville.

Claude married Mary Jane Shalter, daughter of Jonathan Luther Shalter and Emma E. Kerner.
