Garver, 45, living with wife Eva, 42; stepdaughter Lola Presnell, 12; stepson Clair Presnell, 9; and mother Sarah Garber, widowed, 75. Rols, his parents, Sarah, and Eva's father were born in Indiana. Eva, her children, and their parents were born in Kansas. Eva's mother was born in Iowa. Sarah's parents were born in Pennsylvania.

3. Obituary: Salina Journal: obituary of Rols S. Garver on 4 Jul 1965 in Salina, Saline, KS. ³ OSBORNE -- The funeral for Rols S. Garver, 93, will be at 9 am Monday in the First Brethren Church in Portis, the Rev. H. Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Bell cemetery north of Portis.
Mr. Garver died Friday night at the Haven of Rest annex in Osborne.
He was born April 18, 1872, in Fountain county, Indiana. He came to Kansas at the age of five and the family homesteaded northeast of Harlan. Mr. Garver spent his life in the Harlan and Portis communities.
He moved to Portis from the farm in 1911.
Survivors include a son James, Topeka, and two sisters, Mrs. Volney Boyle, Osborne, and Mrs. John Goodman, Diagonal, Ia.

Rols married Eva Mae Pruitt, daughter of Randolph F. Pruitt and Frances Emmaline Dukes, about 1919. (Eva Mae Pruitt was born on 21 Nov 1877 in Solomon Rapids, Mitchell, KS, USA,⁵ died on 8 Feb 1932 in Portis, Osborne, KS, USA ⁵ and was buried in Harlan, Smith, KS, USA ⁵.)
