Miss Carol Ann Gerberich became the bride of Sgt. Franklin Z. Bretz at one o'clock this afternoon in St. Gertrude's Catholic Church. The Rev. John F. Greaney officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Gerberich of Lebanon RD 2. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bretz of Pine Grove RD 2. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of lace over ribbon satin with a detachable chapel train. Her double veil of illusion was attached to a headpiece of pearls and rhinestones.
Miss Christine Horn was the maid of honor. She wore a dress of lime green chiffon over organza and a veil of illusion attached to a bow of pompoms. Her flowers were a bouquet of pompons and mums.
The bridesmaids were Mrs. Linda West, sister of the bride, and Miss Zora Bretz, sister of the groom. They wore dresses and headpieces similar to the maid of honor's but in aqua and yellow, respectively. The flower girl was Miss Ohne Bretz,, sister of the groom. She wore a dress of blue lace over white satin with a lace headpiece.
Best man was Melvin Bretz, brother of the groom. Ushers were Richard Zerbe, cousin of the groom, and John Gerberich. Jr., brother of the bride.
A reception for 125 guests is being held at Gertrude's Club. The bride is a 1969 graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School. She is employed by Haak's Department Store. The groom is a 1968 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School. He is serving with the United States Air Force. The couple will reside at Hill Air Force Base, Ogden, Utah.
