A resident of Anderson since 1913, Grover C. Beher, 86, 2320 Meridian St., died at St. John's Hospital Sunday at 1 a.m., where he had been a patient for one week. He had been in ill health for the past six months. A barber by trade for 60 years, he had operated a shop at 23rd and Meridian St. for several years.
A native of Rush County, he was born Nov. 20, 1884, the son of Oran and Laura Smith Beher and he was a member of the First Friends Church. He married the former Florence Catt in 1908 at Carthage who survives him.
Also surviving are two children, Mrs. Helen Bryant and Wilfred Beher, both of Anderson; a brother, Howard Beher of Leisure; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Harold E. Roxelle Funeral Home with Edwin Barker of the First Friends Church in charge. Interment will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rozelle mortuary from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
