DODGEVILLE - On Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Alice Jean Thompson, age 82, of Dodgeville, passed away of Alzheimer's disease at CrestRidge Memory Care.
She was the fourth child of Chester and Mildred (Beckett) Temby, born on Nov. 23, 1932. She graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1951.
Alice was united in marriage to Robert Thompson at the Mount Horeb Methodist Church on Oct. 24, 1953. She lived her entire adult life in Dodgeville.
Alice and her husband enjoyed going to polka dances all over the state. She also enjoyed going to the grandchildren's sporting and musical events.
Alice is survived by her husband, Robert of Dodgeville; children, Jeff of Dubois, Wyo., Scott (Marcia) of Dodgeville, Barb (Doug) Phillips of Dodgeville, and Bobby Thompson of Barneveld; a sister, Janice Fredrickson of Mount Horeb; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack (Judith) Temby of Mount Horeb; grandchildren, Ashley Phillips (fiancé, Matt Gerlach), Travis and Taylor Phillips and Kyle (fianceé, Jenny Beicher) and Beau Thompson along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Mildred Temby; in-laws, Floyd and Mary (Olson) Thompson; brother, Donald Temby and his wife, Myrtle; sister, Mary Daley and her husband Dean; brother-in-law, Adolph Fredrickson; brother-in-law, Jack Thompson and his wife, Jeanette; and a niece, Marsha Meyers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at the LULLOFF-PETERSON-HOUCK FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Pastor Rom A. Pegram will officiate with burial in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and on Wednesday after 10 a.m.
