Obituary: Harrisburg Telegraph: obituary of Mrs. Ellen Beard on 21 Aug 1937 in Harrisburg, Dauphin, PA. ⁴ Mrs. Ellen Rebecca Beard, 78, former resident of Steelton, died yesterday at the home of her son, H. A. Stains, Chambersburg, R. D. 4. Surviving in addition to her son are one daughter, Mrs. Guy Behman, Steelton; three sisters, Mrs. Charles McGlinn, Annville; Mrs. Kate Smith, Lebanon, and Mrs. Clara Anthoy, York; three brothers, William and Harry Fink, Annville, and David Fink, Harrisburg, and two grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning at the Wilt funeral chapel, 50 South Front street, Steelton. The Rev. Hugh E. Yost, St. John's Lutheran Church, Steelton, will officiate. Burial will be in Oberlin Cemetery. The body may be viewed tomorrow evening at the funeral chapel.

Ellen married Adam Stains Sr., son of Thomas Stains and Catharine.
