Smith, 85, of Greenbriar Village, Bath, formerly of Whitco Mobile Home Park, Allentown, died July 2, 2005 in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, 17th and Chew streets, Allentown. He was the husband of Lorraine L. (Snyder) Smith. They were married for 38 years in April. He was a repairman for General Electric, Allentown, from 1969 until retiring in 1982. Prior to that, he was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, from 1947-63. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Grace C. (Bleamer) Smith. He was a second lieutenant in the Army during World War II. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Allentown. He was a member of American Legion Post 215, Catasauqua and V.F.W. Post 2124, Allentown. He was a member of the One More Ache, Senior Citizens Bowling League and the Friday Night Mix League, both at Mountainville Bowling Alley. Survivors: Wife; daughters, Jewell, wife of Clark Evans, Kathy, wife of Harvey Clymer, both of Allentown, and Candace Potak of Northampton; sons, John Sunny and his wife, Joan and Richard Sunny and his wife, Diane, both of Allentown; brother, Robert Smith of Allentown; sister, Ruth Rutter of Dunedin, Fla.; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday in the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton streets, Allentown. Calling hours will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
