Mrs. Mary Catharine Mackling, 68, of the Viener apartments, died Saturday in Carlisle hospital of hernia after an illness of a week. Sunday would have been her sixty-ninth birthday.
Mrs. Mackling was born March 5, 1870, in Cumberland county, the daughter of the late Francis H. Murren and Anna Mary Beecher Murren. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Chambersburg.
Surviving are her husband, Alonza M. Mackling; four children, Mrs. Charles Gabler of Shippensburg, Oscar W. Garner of York Springs, Jane Burkholder of Harrisburg and Mrs. Martha Ward of Harrisburg; 15 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and three brothers, Harry Murren of Kansas City, Lewis Murren of Smithton and Edward Murren of Dornsife.
Furneral services will be at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the G. Irvin Van Scyoc funeral home here, followed by further services at 2:30 o'clock at the Pentecostal Church in Chambersburg, conducted by the Rev. Leo Sterner. Burial will be made in Cedar Grove cemetery at Chambersburg. Friends were to call after Monday noon at the funeral home.
