1. Obituary: Morning Republican: obituary of John B. Myers on 10 Apr 1897 in Chester, Delaware, PA. ² Honeybrook people were startled by the sad news on Wednesday morning that a respected citizen, John B. Myers, had passed into eternity. Mr. Myers was one of the family of 'Squire Myers, who lived many years in the neighborhood of Cambridge, and who was noted for his just and honest and deliberate decisions as justice of the peace. The family was a large one. Mr. Myers lived for several years opposite the old hotel property on the farm of William Lemmon, which he sold in 1855 to Daniel Plank, and then removed to Honeybrook, where he resided the remainder of his life. He was married first to Maria Moore, daughter of Major Moore. She died in 1885, and he was married a second time in 1889 to Maria Ann Wilson, who survives him.

Mr. Myers was a kind father and faithful husband, a zealous member of the Presbyterian Church, which he regularly attended as long as health permitted. He was always an active man and spent but few idle moments even on the day of his death he had been working in his garden, covering some potatoes and appeared as well as usual. In the evening some friends called and he talked with them until about nine o'clock, when he retired. He had been in bed but a short time when his wife heard him breathe heavily, and upon asking him what was the matter, and receiving no reply, hurriedly lit the lamp, and coming to his bedside saw that he was dead. He leaves to mourn his death a wife and two children, Clara, wife of T. R. McClure, of Glen Moore, and Theodore, now living at Ranck's, Lancaster County, all of whom have the sympathy of the entire neighborhood, in this their bereavement. The funeral will take place today (Saturday), April 10th, at ten o'clock. Interment in the Presbyterian Cemetery. Deceased was 81 years of age.
