Meily, Towanda, Pa., a verdict of $5,000 for a broken leg suffered Sept. 3, 1932, in the Village of Andover when a motorcycle Meily was riding collided with a car owned by Albert Kauffman, Andover, claimed by Meily to have stopped on the highway without a tall light.

BELMONT -- A verdict of $5,000 damages against Albert Kauffman of Andover was given in Supreme Court here at three o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the neglience action of Paul E. Meily of Towanda, Pa., for personal injuries suffered Sept. 3, 1932. The jurt was given the case at twelve-thirty o'clock.

The case involved the collision of Meily's motorcycle, ridden by him and Patrick Quigley, with the automobile of Kauffman on the Greenwood road in the village of Andover. It was the claim of Meily that Kauffman's car was standing on the highway without a tail light. Meily suffered a compound fracture of his right leg.

Testimony for the plaintiff was given by Dr. Lloyd Benedict, of Wellsville, Meily and Quigley. Testimony for the defense was given by William Thyng, Carl Nye, Milo and Robert Scott. Mr. Kaufman, Undersherrif Elson A. Brigham and Mr. Meily's attorney, Harry E. Harding of Hume. The defendant's case was handled by Cornelius McCarthy of Quiqley & Vedder, Olean.
