On a later census correction page, it corrects that 2 children were also in the household: son Thomas B. Heywood, single, 20; and daughter Marion, 4 years 1 month. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania except Thomas' parents in England.

2. Census in 1930 in Girardville, Schuylkill, PA. 9 The 1930 census recorded owning a $2,500 home at 121 N. Second Street: Thomas Heywood, transportation manager at coal mine, 60, living with wife Laura, 59; Gladys, waitress in hotel, 20; and Marion, 14. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania except Thomas' parents in England.

3. Census in 1940 in Girardville, Schuylkill, PA. 10 The 1940 census recorded owning a $3,500 home at 121 N. Born in Girardville, June 7, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Thomas H. and Laura Ellen Beacher Heywood. She was raised in Girardville, and was a 1933 graduate of Girardville High School.

Midge worked as a bookkeeper for the Hillsboro Grain Co. and Hillsboro Lumber Yard. She retired as a bookkeeper for Hillsboro State Bank in 1977.

She was a member of Hillsboro Christian Church, Hillsboro Harmony Club, Silver Bells and Christian Circle 3. On October 27, 1945, she married Harlan Spicer in Girardville.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 8, 1989.

Surviving are three nieces, Ruth Bradbury, Shenandoah, Arlene Fee, Newton, N.J., and Joan Schneff, Philadelphia; three nephews, Glen Heywood, Allentown, Clement Evans, Billings, N.Y., and Thomas Heywood III, Bath; great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday from Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro, with the Rev. James Furr officiating. Friends may call from noon until the time of services. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro. Memorial contributions are preferred to Hillsboro Christian Church. Online condolences may be sent to www.mausfuneralhome.com.
