Born in Shenandoah, June 8, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Clement and Grace Heywood Evans.

A 1938 graduate of J.W. Cooper High School, she was an office clerk for Woolworth's 5&10 cent store, Shenandoah, for 40 years until she retired.

Ruth was an organist at Calvary Baptist Church, Shenandoah, and Zion English Baptist Church, Girardville. She was a member of the Shenandoah Senior Citizens and the Carbon and Schuylkill Welsh Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bradbury, in 1987; a brother, Clement Evans.

Surviving are nieces and nephews; great-nieces and -nephews.

A scripture service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc., 40 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah, with the Rev. Mindy Heppe officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
