Also in the home is brother-in-law Clarence Bailey, 12. Ruth, Anna, and David were born in Pennsylvania and his parents in Wales. Anna was born in Pennsylvania and her parents in England.

David Evans, of Frackville, and John Ardlckey, of Shenandoah Heights, were instantly killed early this morning when they were caught under a fall of top at the Maple Hill colliery. Both men were employed as contract miners and were cleaning a gangway when the accident occurred. The fall gave no warning and both men were trapped without a chance of escape. The fall completely covered their bodies. A. L. Teasedale, superintendent of the Maple Hill colliery, Mine Foreman Frank Kirk and a force of men immediately supervised a rescue party and they finally recovered the bodies at 10 o'clock this morning. An attempt was made to resuscitate the victims, but death had been almost instantaneous. Evans is survived by his widow and three children, while Ardickey was single.
