Robert Brown, 91, of 2178 Newville Road, Carlisle, died Sunday in the home of his son in Duncannon. Born Nov. 5, 1900, in Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Parker and Elizabeth Rieber Brown. He was the widower of Carrie Beecher Brown. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Flora Hartzell. He was an auto mechanic in Plainfield and was a former John Deere equipment dealer in Plainfield. He was a member of Plainfield Church of God, where he formerly served as superintendent of the Sunday School and former Sunday School teacher and member of the church board. Surviving are one daughter, Goldie Brown Hurley, with whom he lived; one son, Richard of Duncannon; eight grandchildren; three step grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Edward L. Rosenberry officiating. Burial will be in Salem Stone Church Cemetery, Lower Frankford Township. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Plainfield Church of God, 2091 Newville Road, Plainfield 17081.
