TRAER \endash Miss Ruth Beecher, daughter of W. F. Beecher of Traer, and the Rev. Alvin H. Boettcher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Boettcher, of New Hampton, were married Wednesday afternoon in the Beecher home by the Rev. W. D. Spiker, pastor of the Congregational church at New Hampton. Only the immediate families of the couple were present. Attendants were Arthur Boettcher of New Hampton, brother of the bridegroom, and Miss Mary Beecher of Traer, sister of the bride. A wedding dinner was served in the home at the close of the ceremony. The newlyweds left Wednesday evening on a week's trip to an unannounced destination. They will be at home in the parsonage of the Congregational church, at Olds after Sept. 1. The Rev. Mr. Boettcher was graduated from New Hampton high school in 1921 and received a B. A. degree from the University of Iowa in 1923. In 1929 he received his bachelor of divinity degree from the Oberlin Graduate School of Theology and immediately became pastor of the Congregational church at Metamora, Wis. The Rev. Mr. Boettcher came to Traer as pastor of the Congregational church in 1931 and remained here four years before being called to Olds. Mrs. Boettcher graduated from Traer high school in 1932 and attended the State Teachers college at Cedar Falls.

Boettcher, 95, of Grinnell died of a heart ailment Monday at Mayflower Health Care Center there. Memorial services were held Wednesday at United Church of Christ Congregational in Grinnell, of which he was a member. Burial was at Buckingham Cemetery in Traer. The Rev. Boettcher, a minister for United Church of Christ Congregational, had lived in several Iowa communities before retiring and moving to Grinnell in 1973. He was a member of Grinnell Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a son, Paul of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Janet Hannasch of Omaha; a brother, Raymond of Shelburne, Vt.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. , Memorial contributions may be made to Mayflower Human Needs Fund or his church. Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell handled arrangements.
