Miss Beacher won the new post over three other candidates by a margin of 478 votes.

Nancy is the granddaughter of Mrs. Anna Kline, Mahanoy City, and Arthur Beacher, Shenandoah. She was elected at the 32nd Grand Assembly on campus at Penn State University.

Over 3,600 girls attended the sessions held last week, with a total of 782 girls representing 178 Assemblies throughout Pennsylvania being eligible to vote in the election. Of the three candidates aspiring for the highest office, Miss Beacher won by a margin of 478.

A member of Danville Rainbow Assembly No. 161 for six years, Miss Beacher served as Worthy Advisor from May to September term 1972. She also was selected and served as Grand Lecturer of District 32 for the year 1973.

Her duties as Grand Worthy Advisor during the 1974-75 term are making official visits with the Supreme Deputy, Mrs. Beryl L. Hogue, in central section of Pennsylvania to 16 district meetings which includes 52 assemblies, preside and assist at institution and constitution of new assemblies in Pennsylvania, attend special occasions, teas and luncheons both in Rainbow and Order of the Eastern Star, representing over 13,000 Rainbow girls of Pennsylvania, being the largest grand jurisdiction in the world. She will also preside at the 33rd Grand Assembly Sessions, August 10 to 17, 1975, at Penn State University. Mrs. Edith Spring, Grand Deputy of district 32 will serve as the general chairman of sessions.

The installation of Miss Beacher, along with her 30 elected and appointed grand officers, was held last Friday evening. The grand installing chaplain for the impressive ceremony was Mrs. Patricia Dibert Ditty, Northumberland, who served Grand Worthy Advisor in Pennsylvania 1970-71 and was also a Rainbow member in District 32 at that time.

Miss Beacher, a 1974 graduate of Danville Senior High School was honored with the citizenship award, chorus award and Daughters of the-American Revolution Good Citizens Award and was a member of the National Honor Society. She will be attending Mansfield State College in September, enrolled s a music education major student.

Miss Beacher is an active member of the Shiloh United Church of Christ, being a member of Youth Choir and Youth Fellowship organization. She also received the Girl Scout God and Community Award as a member of Girl Scout Cadet Troop 413.

Beacher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Beacher, Danville, was united in marriage to Michael G. Schwalm, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glendon Schwalm, Winston-Salem, N.C. The Rev. Robert N. Paden officiated at the ceremony. The organist was Sister Mary James of Villa Conservatory of Music, Danville. The bride wore a gown of white Qiana trimmed with silk Venise lace and seed pearls. The flared skirt ended in a circular chapel train. Her mantilla was trimmed in lace. She carried a chapel bouquet of white roses and carnations with baby's breath on a white Bible. She was attended by her sister, Carol Smith, Gardiner, Maine, who was in pale yellow Qiana trimmed with white lace threaded with pale yellow ribbon. She wore yellow roses in her hair and carried a colonial nosegay of yellow sweetheart roses and while carnations with baby's breath. Ashlie Smith, of Gardiner, Maine, niece of the bride, was flower girl in a pastel print gown designed like that of the bride's attendant. She wore a yellow rosebud in her hair and carried a small white fireside basket filled with yellow sweetheart roses, white carnations and baby's breath. Serving as best man was Peyton Wlldermuth, West Chester. The reception followed at the home of the bride's parents. After a wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Schwalm will reside in Port Huron, Mich. The bride, a 1974 graduate of Danville High School, attended Mansfield State College where she majored in music.The bridegroom, a graduate of Central Dauphin East High School, received B.S. and M.S. degrees in music education from Mansfield State College. He is director of instrumental music at Port Huron Northern High School in Port Huron, Mich.
