Ohio Woman Accused of Attempting to Kill Her Father

Mount Gilead, Ohio, Oct 20. Accused of having attempted the death of her father Hezron Hollingsworth, but putting poison into his coffee last April, Mrs. Bessie May Beecher was arrested late yesterday. Her husband has been in jail several months on a charge of attempting to beat him to death and throwing him under a horse for the alleged purpose of giving the impression that the injuries had been inflicted by the animal. Possession of his farm is the motive charged.

Mr. Gilead, O., Nov 16 -- Mrs. Bessie Beecher, the young wife of Charles Beecher, who was held on a charge of trying to poison her father, Herron Hollingsworth, by putting drugs in his coffee was found not guilty. The jury was instructed to so find on the sole ground of insanity.
"I believe the defendant criminally irresponsible," said Judge Campbell, "but ahve not the assurance that she would not carry out her purpose if permitted to return to her parents." The woman awaits action of the court.
Charles Beecher, the woman's husband, was sentenced to the Mansfield reformatory for assualting Hollingsworth with intent to kill.
