Edward Beecher, of 200 East Fourth Avenue, was happy yesterday, his unusual happiness aroused the curiosity of his shopmates and when Mr. Beecher passed around the cigars no further explanation was needed. A 10-pound boy baby was presented to him yesterday morning and now the shop-mates call him "Pop."

2. Census in 1910 in Altoona, Blair, PA. ² The 1910 census recorded Jeremiah Long, 65, living with wife Letitia C., 63; daughter Viola B. Long, 22; daughter Bessie Beecher, 24, with her husband Edgar A. Beecher, 27, and their son Emery L., 2. Also in the home was Florence Kittell, 29, George O. Kittell, 29; and a son, Otto V. Long, 33. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

3. Newspaper: Altoona Tribune: "Emory L. Beecher, of 1112 Fifth avenue, was reported to the board of health yesterday as being ill from scarlet fever.", 25 Apr 1912, Altoona, Blair, PA. ⁸

7. Newspaper: Altoona Tribune: Beecher-Gunsalus, 14 Jul 1937, Altoona, Blair, PA. ¹ Mr. and Mrs. William E. Gunsalus of 614 East Franklin avenue, announce the marriage of their daughter, Hazel Mae, to Emory L. Beecher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar A. Beecher of Greenwood.
The ceremony was performed on June 24 at the First Methodist church, Cumberland, Md., with Rev. George E. Baughman, pastor, officiating. The bride is an employee of the Shaffer stores company, while the bridegroom is employed in the Juniata shops of the Pennsylvania railroad.

Caroline Avenue: William Gunsalus, freight brakeman at steam railroad shops, 59, living with wife Rose, 54; daughter Hazel Beecher, 29; and son-in-law Emery Beecher, machinist at steam railroad shops, 32. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. They lived at the same place in 1935.

10. Newspaper: Altoona Tribune: Condition Serious, 4 Sep 1944, Altoona, Blair, PA. ¹² Emory L. Beecher, 37, of 616 East Carolina avenue, injured in an accident Friday night, was reported to be in a serious condition at Altoona hospital early this morning. Both he and Harry Bathurst, 36, of R. D. 3, Altoona, were reported as fair last night, but Beecher became worse during the night. Both traveling to their homes from employment with the PRR were injured when they lost control of the car and it was wrecked against a tree along the highway at East Walton avenue and Wlson street.
