(Art) Beecher, 61, 109 N. 6th St., De Pere, died Wednesday at the Veteran's Hospital in Wood. He owned and operated the Club Nicolet in De Pere for 22 years and the Seymour Hotel from 1961 to 1966. Mr. Beecher was a member of Tripoli Shrine, the Consistory of Green Bay, a member of Des Peres Masonic Lodge 85, Elks Lodge 259, the VFW Post 2037, and was a past president of the West De Pere Kiwanis Club and the Tavern Keepers League of Brown County. Survivors include his wife, the former Audrey Campshure; his mother, Mrs. Edith Smith, Indiana; one daughter, Mrs. Joanne Kemps, Stratford; one stepson, Don Robert Miller; two sisters, Mrs. Murletta Riegel and Mrs. Betty McCleery, both of Indiana; one brother, Charles, Green Bay. At Schmidt-Bartelt-Gerber Funeral Home, 10121 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa, after 7 p.m. Thursday. Masonic services 7:30 p.m. Funeral 1 p.m. Friday, at the Veterans Administration Chapel, Milwaukee. Burial in the Veteran's Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the American Cancer Society.
