Census in 1850 in East Nantmeal Twp., Chester, PA. 12 The 1850 census recorded John Beecher as John Bucher [two e's in handwriting can look like a u], farmer, 29, who was living with Elizabeth, 24; Jacob, 5; Mary, 2, and a laborer, Peter Overderff, 18. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. He had no real estate value.

2. Census in 1850 in West Nantmeal Twp., Chester, PA. 13 The 1850 census recorded John Emory, farmer, 54, living with wife Mary, 46; Elizabeth, 24; Rebecca, 22; Effinger, farmer, 21; John, farmer, 19; Hannah, 13; Lewis, 13; Thomas, 9; Leonard, 9; and Samuel 7. Also in the home was Philip Emory, laborer, 45, and Catherine Emory, 60. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

3. Census in 1860 in Fermanagh Twp., Juniata, PA. 3 John Beecher, machinist, 39, was living with wife Elizabeth, 35; son Franklin, 15; Anna, 9; Catharine, 6; Martha, 3; John 3; and Margaret, 3 months. All were born in Pennsylvania. John's real estate was worth $1,800 and possessions $900. The post office was Mifflintown.

5. Death Certificate: Elizabeth S. Beecher, died July 6, 1869 of apoplexy, age 45. Residence: 2213 Coates. Buried July 7, 1869 at Odd Fellows Cemetery., 6 Jul 1869, Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA. 4

6. She has conflicting burial information of Church records and Philadelphia death certificate indicates burial at Odd Fellows cemetery, which no longer exists. Records show she was reinterred in Mount Zion Cemetery in 1888., 7 Jul 1869 and Philadelphia: Odd Fellows Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA. 14 The record book at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Philadelphia clearly record the burial of Ellizabeth S. Beecher on July 7, Register 23785 page 198, indicating she was buried in "Grave 18 Reserve." This book is viewable at Historical Society of PA and online in Ancestry's "Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Church and Town Records, 1708-1985" (see our source citation).
