Philadelphia St. 2. Obituary: The York Daily: Funeral of Alfred H. Jacoby on 7 Dec 1900 in York, York, PA. 8 The funeral of Alfred H. Jacoby took place yesterday morning from his late residence, No. 541 West Philadelphia street, and was largely attended by relatives and friends. Rev. W. M. B. Glanding, pastor of St. Matthews Lutheran church, was the officiating clergyman. The pall bearers were Prof. George W. Gross, L. S. Glatfelter, Charles Shenberger and Caspar henkle. A committee of Colonial Conclave No. 453, I. O. H., were in attendance. Teh floral tribues were both profuse and beautiful, among which were a large cross and pillow of natural flowers, and a design of "The Gates Ajar," in artificial flowers. After the service at the house the remains were taken to Manchester, this county, and interred in Union cemetery at that place. Alfred married Carrie Lory, daughter of Frederick Jacob Lory and Catherine Ann Beck, on 30 Jul 1891 in Manchester, York, PA.1 2 3 (Carrie Lory was born on 19 Jan 1867 in Manchester, York, PA,1 9 10 11 died on 30 May 1949 in York, York, PA 9 10 and was buried on 1 Jun 1949 in Manchester: Manchester Union Cemetery, York, PA 9 10.) |
