They had been married 11 years and she had birthed 3 children by 1910: Earl, 8; Theodore, 5; and Edward, 1. James and the children were born in California, his father in Ohio and mother in Missouri. Ellen was born in Washington, her father in Illinois and mother in Tennessee. They were renting at 196 Callan Ave.

2. Census in 1920 in San Leandro, Alameda, CA. 6 The 1920 census recorded renting at 176 Joaquinn Avenue: B. Ellen Beecher [indexed in census as Bucher since two handwritten e's appear like a u], 40, married, no occupation, living with her children: Earl, express driver, 18; Theodore, 15; Edward, 11; Charlie, 9. Eldorado St: Earl Beecher, truck driver retail furniture, 38, living with wife Leona, 34; daughter Marion, 15; and sons Earl, 13; and Glenn, 4. Everyone was born in California except Leona in Kansas. They lived in the same place in 1935.

5. Newspaper: Long Beach Independent: San Mateo Man New Chief of IOOF, 13 May 1954, Long Beach, Los Angeles, CA. 9 Earl R. Beecher of San Mateo was elected grand warden of the Grand Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, on the third ballot Wednesday after a field of five other candidates had been eliminated.
Six hundred delegates to the convention in Municipal Auditorium also voted to hold the 1955 state convention in San Jose. Long Beach, were three of the last six conventions have been held, was eliminated along with Fresno on the first ballot.

El Camino Real, San Mateo, under the auspices of San Mateo Lodge No. 226, F. & A.M. Interment, Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo County. Memorial services will be conducted Sunday evening al 7:00 o'clock at the Chapel under the auspices of I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 265 of San Mateo. Contributions may be made to the Odd Fellows infirmary fund, I.O.O.F. Home, Saratoga, Calif.
