2. Census in 1920 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA. ⁷ The 1920 census recorded renting at 35 North 54th Street: Lina Altvater, widowed, housekeeper, 59, living with son Winslow Barrigan, 18. They were born in Pennsylvania. Lina's parents were born in Germany. Winslow's father was born in New Jersery and mother in Pennsylvania. In the same address is machinist George Gilliam, 35, and his wife Clare, 29, and their children.

3. Census in 1930 in Abington Twp., Montgomery, PA. ⁸ The 1930 census recorded Winslow E. Barrigan, 29, divorced, living with his mother, Lina Altvater, widow, 69. The record indicates he was married at age 21. He, his mother and father were all born in Pennsylvania. His occupation is music teacher.

4. Newspaper: Lock Haven Express: Fire Destroys Barrigan Home, 2 May 1963, Lock Haven, Clinton, PA. ⁹ Fire Destroys Barrigan Home near Haneyville

HANEYVILLE - A new space heater, operating improperly, was blamed by firemen for the complete destruction by fire of the home of Mr. and Mrs. Winslow E. Barrigan near here early last night.
The Barrigans, former Philadelphians who visited this section often until locating here permanently after his retirement, did not have any insurance on the home, but there was some coverage on the contents. Mr. Barrigan said the loss may exceed $6,000.

Mrs. Barrlgan Away

Mr. Barrigan;'who lived four miles northwest of here, had left his home on the height of Hyner Mountain to have supper with his neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Lester D. Funk, who live nearby. Mrs. Barrigan was visiting in Philadelphia.
A passing motorist noticed the flames at the Barrigan house and stopped at the Funk home, which is closer to Coudersport Pike, to notify them of the fire.
Mr. Funk tried to telephone the Waterville Fire Co. but found that his telephone line was out. He drove to Haneyville and informed Samuel M. Saylor, a member of the Waterville Fire Co. A call was made to the Waterville firemen.
Aid came from the Woolrich, Dunnstown and Castanea Fire Cos. and from the Pennsylvania Department of Forest and Waters, all of which had tankers at the fire.

Alarm at 7 p.m.

The alarm was spread about 7 p.m. The firemen fought the blaze which had a great start but finally the roof caved in. They were there for about two hours. The Dunnstown firemen reported that they drove 24 miles to reach the fire.
The house is on Lock Haven Star Route but is in McHenny Township, Lycoming County, as the pike is the county line at that point.
Snow, still in patches on the ground, helped prevent the spread of the flames to the forest land there.
Mr. Barrigan retired a few years ago after long civilian service at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. He has not been in the best of health recently. He remained at the Funk home today.
