  Noted events in her life were:

1. Census in 1880 in Warwick Twp., Lancaster, PA. ² Jacob Bucher, farmer, 26, was living with wife Mary, 22, and son John, 3. Also with them: Jesse Drybread, farm laborer, 20; and Mary Hilten, servant, 15. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

2. Census in 1900 in Warwick Twp., Lancaster, PA. ³ Jacob R. Bucher, farmer, 47, born Oct 1852, was married for 24 years to Mary B., 42, Feb 1858. She had birthed 4 children, all alive in 1900. With them: Jacob H., 11, Nov 1888; and Mary, 6, May 1894. Also in their home: Catharine, mother, 96, Sep 1803, widowed, who had birthed one child; and Mary B. Bucher, servant, 28, Jun 1869. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

3. Obituary: Gospel Herald: Bucher, Mary B. on 28 Mar 1940. ⁵ Bucher. --- Mary B., daughter of the late John H. and Elizabeth (Brubaker) Hess, was born Feb. 9, 1858; died at her home near Lititz, Pa., March 1, 1940; aged 82 y. 22 d. Nov. 2, 1875, she was united in marriage with Jacob R. Bucher, who died Dec. 9, 1937. To this union were born 2 sons and 2 daughters, all of whom survive (John, of Lititz; Emma, wife of Christ E. Snyder, Manheim; Jacob and Mary, at home). Besides these children she is survived by 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; also 1 brother (Peter B. Hess). She was a member of the Hess Mennonite Church for many years. Although Mother has been in delicate health for a good many years, her last illness was of only three days' duration. Not being able to attend public church services, she had many private devotions with God. We cherish those memories and experiences with her. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services were held March 6 at the home, conducted by Bro. Noah Hurst, with concluding services at the Hess Mennonite Church, by Brethren Amos Horst and Jacob Hershey. Mary married Jacob Risser Bucher, son of Joseph Witwer Bucher and Catherine Snyder Risser, on 2 Nov 1875.¹ (Jacob Risser Bucher was born on 16 Oct 1852 in Penn Twp., Lancaster, PA,^{3 6 7 8} died on 9 Dec 1937 ⁸ and was buried in Lititz: Hess Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster, PA ⁸.)
