  General Notes:

Casper and Daniel were brothers, as stated in Casper's will where Daniel was the executor.
No record of their father has been found to date, but a paragraph in History of Huntingdon and Blair Counties suggests it might be a Joseph, if their father came to America and settled earlier in Huntingdon Co.:

Col. Postlethwaite was one of the early settlers and land-owners at Mount Union. He lived nearly opposite where the tannery is located. William Morris was the pioneer settler on the creek in the north part of the township. He built a mill and log house near where the old Shaver stone house now stands. Matthew Campbell settled along the river below Mount Union in 1790, and George Vanzant lived in 1790 where Peter Shaver now lives. What are now "Bell's Mills" were built in the latter part of the last century, and were owned by a Mr. Baker, and known for many years as "Baker's Mills." Among the pioneers of Hill Valley were Thomas Pollock, Peter Shaver, Joseph Booher, William Brown, Peter Snyder, Hezekiah Rickets, and Henry Rhodes. Maj. John Shaver settled first in Germany Valley, and in 1802 moved to near what is now Mount Union. 1
