The census recorded they were married for 10 years and had birthed 5 children, all alive in 1900. Living with them: Anna, 8, Dec 1891; Clara, 6, Dec 1893; Fred, 4, Jan 1896; Albina, 2, Mar 1898; and daughter Aggie, 0, May 1900. All the children were born in Iowa. Mike and Blanch and their parents were born in Bohemia. Mike immigrated in 1880 and had become a U.S. citizen. Blanch immigrated in 1884.

2. Census in 1930 in Grant Twp., Tama, IA. ¹¹ The 1930 census recorded Merrill Beecher, 39, living with wife Albina, 32; Wesley, 8; Claire, 7; and Richard, 2. Everyone was born in Iowa except Merrill in Pennsylvania.

Merrill was born in Pennsylvania, Bessie in Czechoslovakia, and Albina and Richard in Iowa.

TRAER -- Mrs. Merle Beecher, 72, died in Traer Convalescent Home Sunday noon. She had been in failing health with cancer for about seven years.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Erickson Funeral Home in Traer. Burial will be in Amity rural cemetery northwest of Traer. The body is at the funeral home.

She was born Alvina Chizek March 5, 1878 [sic should be 1898], in Tama Caounty, a daughter of Mike and Bessie Chizek. She and her husband lived in Dinsdale for many years, where he was railroad station agent, before moving here about 15 years ago.

Survivors are her widower; two sons, Wesley, Bellvue, and Richard, Traer; seven grand-children; three sisters, Mrs. Carl Nelson, Traer, Mrs. Agnes Patava, Vinton, and Mrs. Clara Shytil, Tama; three brothers, Peter, Emil and Fred Chizek, all of Traer.

Albina married Merrill Edgar Beecher, son of John William Beecher and Hannah Rebecca Heiser, on 24 Dec 1918 in Grundy Center, Grundy, IA, USA.¹ (Merrill Edgar Beecher was born on 17 Mar 1891 in East Salem, Juniata, PA,^{14 15 16 17} died on 26 Oct 1973 in Traer, Tama, IA ^{14 15 16} and was buried in Reinbeck: Grant Twp.
