1. Census in 1895 in Arkansas City, Cowley, KS. 4 Peter Beecher, 63, was with Elizabeth, 69; Emma, 31; and S. May Bell, 20. Peter was born in Pennsylvania, Elizabeth in Ohio, and the others in Indiana. Everyone's occupation was farmer and all came to Kansas from Iowa.

Next door is G. A. Beecher, 40; Sadie P., 33; Carl A., 5; and Maggie, 2. G.A. was born in Ohio, Sadie in Illinois, and the children in Kansas. G.A. was a carpenter who came from Iowa. Sadie came to Kansas from New Mexico.

Sadie was born in Illinois, her father in Ohio and mother in Indiana. The children were born in Kansas.

Living next door is George's father, Peter Beecher, farmer, widowed, 68, born Oct 1831 in Pennsylvania where his parents were born. He is with his daughter, Emma A., 36, born Feb 1864 in Indiana. Her mother was from Ohio.

Miss Maggie Beecher, 60, died at 8:15 a. m. Friday at Wesley Hospital, Wichita, after a long illness. Her home here was at 415 S. First St.
She was born in Cowley County, Apr. 26, 1892, the daughter of George Albert and Sadie Pickering Beecher.
She was graduated from the local high school and taught in the rural schools of Cowley County many years.
Only local survivor is a cousin, Mrs. Grace Finney, 225 N. Fifth St. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Carl, who died in 1917.
Services will be Monday at 2 p. m., at the Oldroyd-Erdman chapel with the Rev. Paul Hantla officiating. Burial will be in Hope cemetery. Memorial services are being arranged by Oldroyd-Erdman Funeral Directors.
