She had birthed 5 children, 4 still alive: Alice L., 17, Jun 1882; Carrie H., 15, Sep 1884; Bertha A., 11, Aug 1888; and Irvin S., 8, Jul 1891. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania. Myers was renting the home at 248 N. Charlotte St.

Newspaper: Pottstown Mercury: Former Pottstown Woman's Will Filed, 7 Jul 1937, Pottstown, Montgomery, PA. ⁷ Philadelphia, July 6 -- Carrie Beecher Hughes, widow of Joseph P.Hughes, formerly of Pottstown, left an $11,500 estate to be divided among relatives after making two $1000 bequests to a brother-in-law and a sister, according toher will filed for probate today.
The sum of $1000 was bequeathed to a sister, Alice B. Willoughby, who "helped me bear my troubles" and a like amount to a brother-in-law, not named, for "his graciousness to us during our life."
Mrs. Hughes died in Jewish hospital, June 19, of a heart attack caused by a fracture of the skull and compound fracture of the leg received when she was struck by a hit-and-run driver. She had resided at 4630 North 12th street.
Mrs. Hughes was a daughter of Annie R. (Gresh) and the late Myers C. Beecher, 248 North Charlotte street, Pottstown.

6. Cause of Death: Alice died at Einstein Medical Center from pulmonary emboli, fracture of right femur, 11 Feb 1965, Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA. ⁴

Alice married Dr. Ralph Ray Willoughby, son of Dr. Reason Lysander Willoughby and Anna Louise McCorkle.
