Beecher, a well-known resident of this place, died at 2:30 a.m. today, at his home, 329 Locust street, after a lingering illness which confined him to his home the past several years. He was aged 59 years, 8 months and 17 days.
He was employed for many years as a carpenter for the Pennsylvania Railroad company. He was a member of the Riverside lodge, No. 503, Free and Accepted Masons, and the First Methodist Episcopal church, this place.
Besides his widow, Mrs. Mary Roth Beecher, he leaves one son, Paul A. Beecher, this place, four grandchildren, and two brothers, Charles M. Beecher, this place, and Howard Beecher, Manchester. The funereal will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from his late residence. Rev. Dr. Frank W. Leidy, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church, officiating. Burial will be made at Fairview cemetery. Funeral directors Edward Etzweiler and Sons, are in charge of arrangements.
