6. Newspaper: York Daily: Thoms Beecher Arrested, 5 Jul 1906, York, York, PA. 16 The city's first juvenile offender, thirteen-year-old Joseph Harris, had a hearing on the charge of fighting. Arraigned with him were William Williams and Laura Harris, borth of No. 133 South Cherry avenue, and Thomas Beecher, of No. 114 South Park avenue. All the parties concerned are with the exception of Beecher are colored. The trouble began with a dispute over some fireworks between young Harris and a white boy. William and Mrs. Harris lent a helping hand to the colored lad, while Beecher interfered in behalf of the white boy. The war of races was reaching an interesting state when Patrolman Ruth appeared and arrested all of the combatants except the white boy. He made his escape without his identity becoming known. After hearing the story of the affair the mayor discharged the prisoners with a reprimand. A drunk and disorderly charge against Beecher was also dismissed.

Beecher Removed By Death on 28 Dec 1937 in York, York, PA. 22 Following a lingering illness of a complication of diseases, Thomas Howard beecher, husband of Minnie Bupp Beecher, died at 11:15 o'clock last evening. Mr. Beecher, aged 69 years, expired at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Ruler, 142 West Jackson street. He was a retired cigar maker. Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ruler, at whose home death occurred; and Mrs. Henry Zimmerman, Lancaster; one son, R. W. Beecher, York; and two grandchildren. The body was removed to the funeral establishment of A. F. Koller, West York, to be prepared for burial. Funeral arrangements were not completed last night.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at the funeral home of A. F. Keller, 1415 West Market street, Thursday, December 30, at 2 p.m. Interment in Seven Valleys cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 until 9 p.m.

Beecher, who died last Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary ruler, was held at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon with services at the funeral home of A. F. Koller, 1415 West Market street, West York. Rev. I. M. Lan, pastor of Augsburg Lutheran church ,of which congreation the deceased was a member, assisted by Rev. Carl R. Simon, pastor of Union Lutheran church, a former pastor of the deceased, officiated. Services were largely attended by relatives and friends. These relatives served as active pallbearers.: Henry Beecher, Paul Beecher, Byrd Ruler, Roy Flinchbaugh, F. M. Bupp and C. F. Koller. A delegation of members of Washington camp, No. 668, P. O. S. of A., served as honorary pallbearers. Interment was in Seven Valleys cemetery.
