Christian Bucker, saw miller, 36, was with wife Margaretta, 36; George, 14; Henry, 13; Horrace, 12; Elizabeth, 10; Christian, 8; and David, 5. Also with them is John Bucker, saw miller, 23.

The next home is David Bucher, saw miller, 25; with wife Catherine, 20, and daughter Rebecca, 1. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. Neighbors were surnames Strickler and House.

2. Residence: on 4 May 1853 in Columbia, Lancaster, PA. ³

3. Census in 1870 in West Hempfield Twp., Lancaster, PA. ⁶ John Bucher, clerk at saw mill, 42, was married to Rachel, 38. Living with them: Mary, 15; Alice, 13; and Joseph, 11. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania except Rachel was a Maryland native. John had no real estate value and his possessions were worth $150. The post office was Columbia.

4. Census in 1880 in Columbia, Lancaster, PA. ⁷ John Bucher, working in saw mill, 51, was living with Rachel, 47; Mary, 23; Alice, 21; and Joseph, 19. Rachel was born in Maryland, the others in Pennsylvania. The listing was in the 2nd Ward, Columbia, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

5. Census in 1900 in Columbia, Lancaster, PA. ¹ At 27 South Third Street in Columbia, the home was owned by John Bucher, carpenter, 74, born Sep 1827, married for 46 years to wife Rachel, 68, born Mar 1832. She had given birth to three children who were all living in 1900. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.
