1. Obituary: University of Georgia's Georgia Magazine in Jun 2002. 1 Milton Scott (AB '16) of Decatur died Aug. 8, 2001 at the age of 106. Scott is the grandson of George W. Scott, founder of Agnes Scott College. A veteran of World War I, he served in France with the American Expeditionary Force, and received the French Legion of Honor medal in September of 1999 from the French Consul in Atlanta. This is the highest honor the French Government awards to a non-citizen. Scott was retired from Georgia Duck and Cordage Mill where he was a principal owner.
