Also in the home was his wife Margaret, 28, and their children: Charles, 7; Suetta A., 5; Anna E., 3; and William, 1. Simon and his children were born in the Michigan, Margaret and the Buchers in Pennsylvania. Simon's farm was worth $3,000 and personal estate $800. The post office is Dowagiac.

3. Census in 1880 in Marcellus Twp., Cass, MI. ² John A. Bucher, engineer, 32, was living with wife Susanna, 33; Minnie, 5; and Iva C., 3. The children were born in Michigan, the parents in Pennsylvania.
